More Summer Fun

Today was a great day for the beach (unlike yesterday - although that didn't stop us from going 3 times to try to cool off - we also went to a movie at the hilariously decorated Cinema Paradiso in Ettalong).  

Our plans today were to meet the Kerrison family and walk down to Maitland Bay - my favourite NSW beach.   Then do the short hike around to Putty Beach just because it's such a lovely walk.  

The weather was great and the blue skies and waves made the beach fantastic.  It was great to hang out with the Kerrison crew and play around the water. This is Zali trying to lift the youngest - Elouise - over the oncoming waves. The waves were small but quite steep so if you turned your back on them you ran the risk of being flattened (as Sam Kerrison discovered while we were playing keepings-off with the frisbee).

After we'd had enough sun and sand, Denise and Jon herded the youngest 3 up to the car park while the rest of us did the hike around the coast.  They actually had by far the hardest task as the longer hike is pretty flat and features great views and stopping points. 

We arrived at Putty Beach after about 40 minutes, just in time for another swim before saying goodbye. Another awesome summer holiday day!
